Adios, Texas... Salut, France! Bienvenue! In May 2024 I was riffed so I retired 9 mos. earlier than planned. In May 2025 I made the pond hop from the Texas hill country to Southwest France with my two dogs, Pippi the princess (11) and Obi Juan the devil dog (5). History! Culture! Travel! Food! Learning French! And oh yes, proximity to the grand tours of cycling - France, Italy, & Spain. I retired on a REALLY slim budget - but it CAN be done, and I live better on less money in Europe than I ever could now in the USA. What's not to love about that? As I settle into life in small-city France, a big focus is to show people that anything is possible. The ups & the downs.
